When Lead Dispencer started shooting Cowboy Action he took the sport by storm, quickly becoming one of the fastest and most respected shooters. Lead Dispencer and Mike Kirkpatrick got together to create the new “Lead Dispencer” rig. The idea was to create a rig that would bring out the best of Lead Dispencer’s crossdraw shooting style. Both novice and veterans of the sport can benefit from the ideas LD contributed to this rig.

In his own words here is what LD had to say about the new Kirkpatrick rig.

“This rig was designed while taking into account a shooter’s desire for speed and safety. The steel lining gives the shooter flexibility as they can manually squeeze or loosen the holster, allowing a tighter hold for stages with movement and a looser holds for stages with no movement. The mouth of the holster is flared to allow easy re-holstering and faster gun transitions. The trigger guards were left exposed for easier and more efficient draw. Lastly, both holsters on the rig are angled to allow for faster gun transitions, and this angle was also designed to minimize the likelihood of a shooter breaking the 170 degree rule. Second only to your guns, a proper and reliable rig is necessary for competing in any of the Cowboy Action Shooting sports.”
